When I start my compressor it runs fine and fills up to the maximum pressure. I then use the air until the pressure drops to the cut in pressure. The motor then tries to restart and either hums or trips the breaker. What are possible causes?

First check the voltage at the source. Proper operation requires that the voltage be 120 +/- 5 volts.

If the voltage is within range, check to ensure circuit is on a 15 amp minimum breaker. If the breaker continues to trip, a 20 amp breaker may be required. Refer to Instruction Manual for additional information.

If above requirements are met and your compressor has an induction motor, check the start capacitor using an ohm meter and replace if necessary.

If all above requirements are met, contact your nearest authorized service center for further assistance.
